Privacy policy
Last updated 11 October 2026
UPBURN is a game made by Matt Stapleton, an independent developer in the United Kingdom. This policy covers the UPBURN app for iPhone, iPad and Android, and this website.
The short version: UPBURN does not collect, sell or share your personal data. No accounts, no adverts, no analytics, no tracking.
What stays on your device
To work, the game saves a few things on your phone or tablet:
- your progress, so an interrupted run can carry on;
- your high scores and the three-letter initials you type for the leaderboard;
- your achievements and settings (volume, music type, scanlines and so on).
These never leave your device and are not sent to me. Deleting the app deletes them.
Game Center (iPhone and iPad)
If you are signed in to Apple's Game Center, the game sends your scores and achievements to Game Center so they appear on its leaderboards. Game Center is run by Apple under Apple's privacy policy. I do not receive your name, email or any other personal details from it. You can sign out of Game Center at any time in your device's Settings.
Android
On Android the game uses no online services at all.
This website
This site uses no cookies and no analytics. It is hosted by Cloudflare, which handles basic technical information (such as your IP address) to deliver the pages and keep the site secure, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Children
UPBURN does not collect personal data from anyone, including children.
